    Re: BCS Standings

I posted about this in the College Gameday thread, but it will go better here.

Herbstreit was railing Va. Tech on the BCS show, haha. Saying he has no idea how voters can put Va. Tech who has played nobody ahead of teams like Oregon who lost to USC because the kicker couldn't make a field goal. Can't say I disagree with him, but I think it's a moot point because it's going to be either LSU vs. Alabama or Arkansas vs. Alabama for the title. Only way a team like Va. Tech or Stanford can make it into the top 2 is if LSU beats Arkansas, Auburn beats Alabama and Oklahoma beats Oklahoma State, along with Va. Tech beating UVA and Clemson, but after this past weekend anything is possible it seems like.

I've said from the start of the season that Tech's schedule was going to hurt them, that they could go undefeated and lose out on the title game to a 1 loss team from SEC or possibly elsewhere. When your only victory worth a dime was beating #23 GA Tech then that won't go far with voters or the computers. They could get into title game if a lot of things happen which is possible

Being a VT fan I hate to say this but it don't matter if we make the National title game or some .com bowl. Because either way will lose it lol. Seems like we can get there just can't finish it.

I don't know why anyone would want to make the title game knowing what will be coming for them. The big 3 in the SEC have more than proven they head and shoulders above the rest of college football this year.

I'm going to have to respectfully agree with the SEC big 3. The SEC is a big 2. Don't get me wrong. Arkansas has a good team, but they lost to Bama by 24, beat a 6-5 A&M by 3, Ole Miss by 5, and Vandy by 3 (should have lost). Now, to be fair they have played very well the past 3 games.

They are sort of like VT, there by default because they have won games. Heck, Stanfords coach was ragging on VT's schedule but while they have beaten a good USC team they also got drubbed by Oregon 53-30 on their home field. A game that wasn't as close as the score. If his team had only won the game that mattered (much like VT/Clemson) then he wouldn't have to rag on VT. IMO, the only REAL way to solve the dilemma is to devise some sort of playoff that is fair to settle it on the field like most other sports.
"They (Miami) told me I wasn't big enough to play running back,'' said Ryan Williams with a snicker. "And they tried to offer me as an athlete or wide receiver."

So true. Im a hokie through and through but we cant win the big game no matter what. I love Frank but he chokes durring the big game. FSU vs VT is the perfect example. Beemer tried to keep Michael Vick in a box and make him pass instead of scramble like he had done every game before. Last year Stanford beat us like we stole something. It seems we can get to the top of the mountain but cant cross the final peak

uhhhhh...Michael Vick ran the ball 23 times and was the game's leading rusher, also had 225 passing yards that game
